Robert Huckman is the Albert J. Weatherhead III Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, the Howard Cox Faculty Co-Chair of the HBS Healthcare Initiative, and senior associate dean for external relations. He teaches the MBA elective *Transforming Health Care Delivery* and serves as faculty chair of the HBS executive education program *Managing Health Care Delivery*. He is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and co-chair of the management track of Harvard’s doctoral program in health policy. He previously served as faculty chair of the MBA Required Curriculum (2016–2020) and head of the Technology and Operations Management unit (2019–2025).

His research examines the relationship between organizational characteristics and operational performance, with a primary focus on the health care industry. He is an associate editor of *Management Science* and has published in leading journals including the *American Economic Review*, *Harvard Business Review*, *Health Affairs*, *Journal of the American Medical Association*, *Management Science*, and the *New England Journal of Medicine*.

Huckman serves as board chair of the Brigham and Women’s Physicians Organization and previously served as a trustee of Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is or has been a member of advisory boards for several private health care companies.

He received a PhD in business economics from Harvard University and an AB in public policy, *summa cum laude*, from Princeton University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
