Dr. Martha Mutis

Dr. Martha Mutis is president of the American Association of Hospital Dentists (AAHD) and past president of the Hispanic Dental Association (HDA). She also serves as president of the New York Section of the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR), a board member of the Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA), and North America regional councilor for the Global Oral Health Inequalities Research Network (GOHIRN) at the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).

She previously served as chair of research, grants, and development for the Hispanic Dental Association and as president of the Research Cathedra at Alfonso X El Sabio University School of Dental Medicine (UAX) in Spain.

Mutis earned a Master of Public Health from Nova Southeastern University, a postdoctoral dental certificate in dental public health from NYU Langone Health, and a doctoral degree in health education from Columbia University. She also serves as a regent for Section XX, Region 50 at large, of the International College of Dentists (ICD) and is a member of the Healthy Smiles, Healthy Hearts Scientific Advisory Group at the American Heart Association (AHA).
