Mariya  Filipova's work focuses on advancing a healthcare system that is simpler, more equitable, and better integrated into communities. She leads CareQuest Innovation Partners, the for-profit affiliate of the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, where she oversees innovation, advisory, and investment activities designed to improve overall health through oral health and expand access, equity, and integration. 

Previously, Filipova served as CEO of a Harvard spin-off that used artificial intelligence and satellite imagery to examine how environmental factors such as noise and air pollution influence clinical outcomes and developed research-driven solutions for health plans and digital therapeutics companies. She also served as president of innovation at Anthem Inc. (now Elevance Health), the largest Blue Cross Blue Shield company, supporting health care benefits for more than 40 million members. Earlier in her career, as a managing director at Deloitte, she developed the firm’s Future of Work program and led a global portfolio of investments across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA that applied emerging technologies to build software solutions for workforce and organizational needs. Before entering the health and technology sectors, Mariya advised global fund managers and institutional investors on credit and structured derivatives trading at Barclays Capital in New York and London. 

As an investor and board member, she works with executives and boards on go-to-market planning, product development, strategy, talent development, and evaluating risks and opportunities related to emerging technologies. She has been recognized by Business Insider and the Harvard Business School Association of Boston, and her work has been featured in Harvard Business Review’s Competing in the New World of Work and in Forbes’ “You and AI.”
