Joseph Gough
Joseph Gough is a healthcare strategist, innovator, and entrepreneur based in Michigan. He is widely recognized for pioneering digital solutions in value-based care and patient engagement. As of 2026, he continues to bridge clinical excellence and technological optimization through leadership roles at Joyn Health and its subsidiary, Town Doc, Inc.
Joyn Health serves portfolio companies, including WSS Surgical Solutions. Gough co-founded the WAVR patient engagement and pain management platform, which WSS acquired and has used to produce multiple clinical trial results demonstrating reductions in unnecessary anesthesia use and patient anxiety.
Gough is also known for his success in value-based care with Aledade, where he served as executive director of growth. In this role, he oversaw operations in the Great Lakes region and led market expansion nationwide. He directed the highest-performing accountable care organization (ACO) in the region for four consecutive years.
Before Aledade, Gough established himself as a serial innovator. At Remedy Partners/Signify, he served as executive vice president of innovation, helping lead the nation’s largest bundled payment operator through its $1 billion merger with Signify and subsequent sale to CVS/Aetna. As founder and CEO of Wellopp and Homeward Health, he created the “digital discharge” platform, which reduced hospital readmissions by 15% to 35% through interactive screenings and patient education.
Gough also founded ITC Healthy, one of the earliest digital healthcare media companies. The organization evolved into a managed services provider supporting health systems and surgical groups across the United States and the United Kingdom’s National Health Service.
